If there was ever a man on earth who could grab your attention and make you love him for decades…it’s this man right here. Despite the physical changes, abuse allegations, and constant media jokes poked at him…Michael is, and forever WILL be, a beloved originator and a man highly respected for all that he has done for music fans across all genres’.Acquiring fans through 3 generations (yes, even the little kids of today who don’t know him the way we remember him…but just KNOW that MJ was the man!) and grabbing the hearts of people across all ethnic backgrounds…Michael Jackson went home suddenly on June 25th, 2009. I swear, just typing that last statement gave me the weirdest feeling and my heart is heavy. I’ve never had the honor of meeting him, but to me….he’s not just some artist who made good music. No, MJ was a movement! Had it not been for him…artist of my generation who began their music careers in the 90’s would not even exist! He gave them something to achieve…he gave them that inspiration, he gave them those cool ass dance moves that they made their own. No one in history or in the future can claim that title but Jackson.Yesterday became a day that everyone will remember, one of those “Where were you when you heard that Jackson died” days.I’m still at an extreme loss of what to say here…aside from saying that his entire family and all of his friends are in my thoughts and prayers. Michael Jackson you are going to be missed dearly, but we are going to celebrate you. All the pain and judgement that you faced from others and those in the media who tarnished your name means nothing to those who really loved you for you. Rest In Peace!
